Knitting related things for meeee
I LOVE HAVING MONEY!!!!

ALSO TYPING MY TITLES IN ALLCAPS.

I got to spend $20 on knitting paraphernalia today! I got a GIGANTIC skein of Phentex  Worsted that reminds me of strawberries, chocolate and cream, a small skein of Patons Silk Bamboo in a gorgeous dark teal, and a pair of 4.5 mm aluminum needles. Woots! I am immensely pleased. I haven’t been able to buy knitting supplies for tooooo long. <3

Knitting!

I offered to knit something for Lizzykins for her birthday since I have no funding and plenty of yarn and time, and we settled on a black dice bag with a Mana symbol on it (red Mountain). It’s my first time using dpns and the casting on was a bitch. Thank goodness Kaitlin taught me how to do cable cast on! I tried with longtail once and it was awful… I think I did it wrong, too.

BUT ANYWAYS. So far so good. Only done a couple of rows, but I have hope! This will also be my first venture into the world of colorwork. ><

Wish me luck??

knittwit:

This is a pattern I found through Ravelry.com, I then modified it to be knit flat, rather than in the round.

Here is the original pattern: Boyfriend Hat

Here is how I do it:

I have been using Caron Simply Soft in various colors, because it’s simple, and soft.

Needles: 2 straight size US8

Both because it’s good pattern and because it illustrates how un-intimidating circular needles are. Also, if someone doesn’t want to or can’t use circular needles, here’s the secret!

Day 30: What’s your name on Ravelry? If you don’t have a Ravelry account, why?
